This Issue Is About YouPLUS: Melinda French Gates puts $10M behind menopause Estimated Reading Time <3 minutes Summer has begun and like many of you, my thoughts have turned toward one thing: vacation. What kind of coach would I be if all I did was show up to work? Rest, reflection and some free-roaming creative time are also critical needs. That said, before I sign off for a little while, I wanted to take this opportunity to hear from you—after all, I also realized I need to do the one thing I keep asking you to do: check in. I have three brief questions below—and all you need do is reply. Trust me, I read every one that lands in my inbox. THE CHECK-IN Six months in, I can see that you're opening these emails—and that means something to me. But open rates don't tell me what's actually landing, what's missing, or what you need more of. I would love to know what you need and are looking for. Question 1 — Where you are: Where are you right now in the menopause journey—just starting to connect the dots, in the thick of it, or on the other side trying to make sense of what changed? Question 2 — What's missing: What's the question you keep coming back to that hasn't been answered yet—about your health, your next chapter, or both? Question 3 — Readiness: Is there something you're ready to do something about—and what, if anything, is in the way? The replies I get from this issue shape what comes next. And sometimes they start a conversation that goes further than the newsletter. Hit reply. I'm genuinely listening. THE ISSUES THAT KEEP COMING UP Whether you're new here or have been with me from the start—these five issues keep resonating. If you missed them or are new here, they're worth going back to. 1. From Misinformation to Momentum: 2025 Menopause Society Updates (Nov 2025) The research and policy updates worth knowing—from the most credible source in the field. 3. Future Self, Meet Present You: Menopause as a Catalyst (Sep 2025) What if the transition isn't something to get through—but something to use? 4. Everything Wants Your Attention. Choose What Deserves It (Jan 2026) A framework for the overwhelmed high performer who needs to stop doing everything and start doing the right things. 5. Why Estrogen Protects the Heart (Feb 2026) The hormone connection most women don't know about—and every woman should. PLUS: NEWS ITEMS A $10 Million Signal—And Why It Matters Menopause research just got a powerful new ally. On June 4th, Melinda French Gates announced a $10 million donation to The Menopause Society—part of a larger $215 million commitment to women's health through her philanthropic organization, Pivotal. The funds will go toward training healthcare practitioners and expanding access to menopause care in underserved areas. French Gates was direct about the problem: "For too long, perimenopause and menopause have been treated as invisible—something women are expected to manage quietly, without clear answers or support. That must change." The donation matters not just for the funding but for the signal it sends: menopause is not a niche issue. It is a women's health imperative. And when someone like Melinda French Gates puts $10 million behind that statement, the conversation shifts. |
